Care & Maintenance | STUDIO MASTRO

To preserve the singular presence and longevity of your STUDIO MASTRO handcrafted objects, please follow these professional care guidelines.

1. Porcelain Surfaces & Finishes

STUDIO MASTRO objects are defined by specialized surface treatments, developed for both aesthetic depth and daily functionality.

  • Satin / Semi-Matte Surfaces: Unlike traditional unglazed porcelain, our satin surfaces undergo a specialized process where the glaze is partially removed before firing. This seals the pores of the porcelain, creating a silk-like finish that is highly resistant to staining.
  • Glazed / Polished Surfaces: High-gloss finishes are exceptionally durable and can be maintained by wiping with a soft, damp cloth. Dry immediately to prevent water spots.

2. Safety & Everyday Use

Except for Lighting and certain Unique art objects, all STUDIO MASTRO functional ware is designed for modern living:

  • Food-Safe: All interior surfaces are finished with high-quality, non-toxic, food-safe glazes.
  • Appliance Compatibility: Our porcelain is fully Dishwasher and Microwave safe. We recommend using mild detergents and avoiding overcrowded dishwasher racks to prevent physical impact.

3. Functional Vase Care

All STUDIO MASTRO vases are fully glazed internally, ensuring they are waterproof.

  • Cleaning: While dishwasher safe, we recommend hand-washing larger or more complex vases with lukewarm water to ensure long-term preservation.
  • Mineral Buildup: To prevent limescale deposits from standing water, change the water regularly and dry the exterior after filling.

4. Lighting Safety & Handling

STUDIO MASTRO lighting fixtures are architectural objects and require specific safety protocols:

  • Power Supply: Always disconnect the power before cleaning the fixture or replacing the LED bulb.
  • Electrical Components: Use a dry, soft brush to clean textile-covered cables. Never use liquids or damp cloths on electrical parts.
  • Modular Elements: When disassembling series such as Joint, Plinth, or Tower, handle each porcelain section individually to avoid chipping hand-fitted joints.

5. General Handling

Porcelain is a noble and durable material, yet it remains breakable under sudden impact.

  • Always place your objects on stable, level surfaces.
  • Avoid exposure to extreme temperature shocks.
